B Back Smoke from B Stairs
CS2 Vertigo B Back smoke from B Stairs. Blocks B Back defenders so Ts can safely push onto B site without getting picked from behind the boxes.

Steps
- From B Stairs, walk to the left-side wall near the landing area before the site entrance. Stand against the wall where you can see a small pipe fitting protruding from the concrete at roughly waist height. Press your left shoulder into the wall right next to the pipe.
- Look up and to the right toward the structures above B site. Find the corner of the metal awning that extends from the building above B Back.
- Place your crosshair on the tip of the metal awning corner - the exact point where the two edges of the awning meet to form a sharp corner.
- Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The arc from the jump throw is needed to send the smoke over the staircase walls and into the B Back area.
- The smoke arcs across the site and lands at B Back, blocking all vision from CTs positioned behind the boxes and containers in the back of the site.
Tips
- B Back is a favorite defensive position for CTs on Vertigo because the boxes provide excellent cover and strong angles on the Stairs entry. This smoke removes that advantage completely.
- Always throw this in combination with the B CT smoke for a full B execute. Both smokes together isolate the site, leaving only the close-range angles that your entry fraggers can clear.
- If the smoke lands too far left (on the site floor rather than at B Back), your crosshair was too far to the left. Shift your aim right, closer to the tip of the awning.
- If it overshoots past B Back, lower your crosshair slightly. The awning tip gives the maximum distance, so aiming below it shortens the throw.

When to Use
This smoke is a core piece of T-side B executes on Vertigo. Use it for:
- Full B executes where you need to block the B Back player before your team pushes through B Stairs onto the site
- B site splits where players enter from multiple angles and B Back smoke ensures the anchor cannot pick off each entry individually
- Post-plant scenarios where re-smoking B Back denies the CT a position to hold from during retake attempts
- Anti-AWP plays when an AWPer is playing B Back behind the boxes and you cannot afford to dry-peek the angle
- Force-buy rounds where your team commits to B and needs both key angles smoked to have a realistic chance of taking the site
