A Retake Flash from CT Spawn
CS2 Vertigo A retake flash from CT Spawn. Blinds A site defenders so your team can push onto site safely during retakes.

Steps
- From CT Spawn, walk toward the A site corridor and stop at the metal doorframe that leads to the CT A area. Stand on the left side of the doorframe, pressing your left shoulder into the wall.
- Look up and to the right. Find the exposed pipe that runs along the ceiling above the corridor, heading toward A site.
- Place your crosshair on the underside of the pipe - right at the point where the pipe passes over the doorframe, about two-thirds of the way across.
- Perform a standing left-click throw - no jump needed. Aim at the pipe and release the flashbang.
- The flash arcs over the corridor wall and pops above A site, blinding any T holding angles toward CT A, Scaffolding, or the retake approach. Your team has approximately 2 seconds of full blind to push onto the site.
Tips
- This is the most important flash for A site retakes on Vertigo. It covers nearly all common post-plant positions from a single throw, making it the best value flash for retake scenarios.
- Turn away from the flash trajectory immediately after throwing. Face the wall, wait for the pop sound, then swing out onto the site while Ts are still blinded.
- If the flash pops too early (before clearing the wall into the site), your crosshair was aimed too low on the pipe. Raise your aim slightly.
- Coordinate with teammates by calling “flashing A” before throwing. This ensures your retake partners are looking away from the flash direction and ready to push the moment it pops.

When to Use
This flash is critical for CT retakes on A site. Use it for:
- Full A retakes where your team is pushing from CT A and needs Ts blinded before committing to the site
- Coordinated retakes where one player flashes from CT while another pushes from a different angle to create a crossfire
- Post-plant scenarios where the bomb is planted and you need to peek onto the site safely to find and eliminate the defenders
- Eco round retakes where the flash advantage helps bridge the weapon gap against T rifles
- Late-round clutch plays where you are retaking A alone and need the flash to create an opening against the site holder
