Sandbags Smoke from Monster

Smoke Sandbags from Monster on Overpass to block the close-range defensive angle during B site executes. Consistent jump-throw lineup.

Steps

  1. Inside Monster, walk up the ramp toward the B site exit. Stop at the top of the ramp and press yourself against the right wall, right before the archway opens up to the site.
  2. Look up and to the left through the archway opening. You can see the underside of the Heaven walkway above. Find the metal beam that supports the walkway structure.
  3. Place your crosshair on the left edge of the metal beam where it meets the concrete wall. There is a visible seam where the beam is bolted to the structure - aim right at that junction point.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The jump throw gives the smoke the extra height it needs to clear the archway and land correctly.
  5. The smoke arcs out of Monster and lands directly on the Sandbags position, blocking any CT playing behind the sandbag cover from seeing players exiting Monster.

Tips

  • Sandbags is a common close-range angle where CTs play with shotguns or SMGs to catch Ts off guard as they exit Monster. This smoke completely neutralizes that position.
  • If the smoke lands too deep (behind Sandbags toward CT spawn), your crosshair was too high on the beam. Lower it to the exact bolt junction point.
  • Pair this with the B Site smoke from B Short for a complete B execute. The two smokes together block both Heaven and Sandbags, leaving CTs with very few options.
  • Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
  • Time this throw to land just before your team exits Monster. Throwing too early means the smoke may start fading before everyone is on site.
  • After throwing, immediately pull out your weapon and swing wide from Monster. The smoke gives you the safety to take an aggressive position on the site.

When to Use

This smoke is essential for any B site take that involves a Monster push. Throw it when:

  • Full B executes where players are pushing from both Monster and B Short - the Sandbags smoke secures the Monster exit
  • Monster rushes where your team is flooding out of Monster and needs the close angle neutralized immediately
  • Split B takes where the Monster push needs to feel safe while the Short players draw attention from the other direction
  • Retake denial after planting on B site, smoking Sandbags prevents CTs from using that position to defuse or peek post-plant angles
  • Anti-eco rounds where CTs might be playing close positions with cheap weapons - the smoke forces them out of their comfort zone
