B Site Smoke from B Short

Steps

1. Push up B Short until you reach the doorway that opens onto B site. Stop just inside the doorway and press yourself against the left wall so you are partially covered from site.
2. Look toward B site and find the large concrete pillar in the center of the site. Behind the pillar you can see the back wall with green graffiti on it.
3. Place your crosshair on the top edge of the graffiti on the back wall, roughly centered between the pillar and the right wall. The crosshair should rest where the green paint meets the plain concrete above it.
4. Perform a standing left-click throw - no movement or jump needed. Simply hold left click and release.
5. The smoke lands directly behind the B site pillar, creating a wall of smoke that blocks vision from Heaven and the back of the site, allowing your team to push onto the near side of B safely.

Tips

• This is one of the easiest smokes on Overpass because it requires no movement, no jump throw bind, and the position is simple to find. Learn this one first if you are new to B executes.
• The smoke blocks the Heaven angle, which is the most dangerous position CTs hold on B site. Without this smoke, the Heaven player has a free line of sight onto anyone entering from Short.
• If the smoke lands too far left and does not cover the Heaven sightline, move your crosshair slightly right on the back wall. Small adjustments make a big difference.
• Combine this with the Sandbags smoke from Monster so your team can enter from both Short and Monster simultaneously without getting picked.
• Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
• Since this is a standing throw, you can hold an angle on B Short while waiting for the execute call, then quickly line up and throw without needing to reposition.

When to Use

This smoke is the foundation of B site takes on Overpass. Throw it when:

• Executing B site as part of a coordinated push from B Short and Monster - this smoke cuts off the most dangerous angle on site
• Planting the bomb on B site, as the smoke provides cover from Heaven and lets your team-mate plant safely behind the pillar
• Quick B takes where your team rushes through Short with minimal setup - even as the only smoke thrown, it provides major value
• Split executes where you need the Heaven player blinded while teammates push from Monster on the opposite side
• Force-buy rounds where your team has limited utility but needs to take a site - one smoke here goes a long way
