Monster Molotov from Heaven
Rain fire into Monster from Heaven on Overpass. This CT molotov flushes out Ts hiding in Monster and denies the push onto B site.

Steps
- From Heaven, walk to the right side of the railing that overlooks B site. Position yourself where the railing meets the far wall, pressing your right shoulder into the corner.
- Look down toward the Monster archway on the far side of B site below. You can see the dark tunnel entrance and the top of the ramp leading down.
- Place your crosshair on the upper-right corner of the Monster archway - right where the arch stone meets the wall to the right. There is a visible crack in the stonework at this junction.
- Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The jump throw is needed to get the molotov to clear the railing and arc down into Monster properly.
- The molotov sails over the railing, drops into the Monster exit area, and spreads fire across the top of the ramp and the immediate exit zone, forcing any Ts in Monster to either back off or take significant damage.
Tips
- This molotov is devastating against T-side Monster rushes. If you hear footsteps or utility being thrown inside Monster, drop this immediately to halt the push and deal free damage.
- If the molotov hits the railing and breaks at your feet instead of clearing it, your crosshair was too low. Raise it to the upper corner of the archway so the jump throw gives enough clearance.
- The fire lasts about 7 seconds and covers the entire exit area. That is enough time for your B Short teammate to rotate over and help you hold a potential double push.
- Practice offline with these commands:
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 - Combine this with the Monster smoke from B Site for layered defense. Throw the smoke first to delay, then molotov after the smoke fades to continue denying the position.
- Be aware that your position on Heaven is exposed while lining up this throw. Make sure B Short is smoked or watched by a teammate so you do not get caught looking away.
When to Use
This molotov is a key piece of CT utility for B site defense on Overpass. Use it when:
- Denying a Monster push when you hear Ts stacking up inside the tunnel - the fire forces them back and deals damage to anyone caught in the exit
- Delaying B executes by burning the Monster exit while your smoke on Short buys time for rotations from A
- After your Monster smoke fades as a follow-up denial tool to extend the amount of time Ts cannot safely exit Monster
- Anti-eco defense when CTs expect Ts to rush through Monster with cheap guns - the molotov punishes close-range pushes heavily
- Retake scenarios when Ts have planted B and one is likely playing inside Monster for a post-plant angle
