B Barrels Molotov from Monster

Steps

1. In monster, push toward the B site exit and stop near the final corner before the opening. Position yourself against the right wall so you have a consistent starting spot.
2. Look up through the monster exit toward B site and find the barrels area on the far side. Identify the ceiling edge above the barrels where the concrete overhang meets the open sky - this is the roofline of the structure above the barrels position.
3. Place your crosshair on the right edge of the ceiling overhang, about where the concrete lip ends and the sky becomes visible. This should be directly above where the barrels sit on the site.
4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The molotov needs the extra height to clear the monster exit and arc across to the barrels side of B site.
5. The molotov sails across the site and lands behind the barrels, engulfing the entire position in fire and forcing the CT to either push forward into the open site or retreat toward CT water.

Tips

• Barrels is one of the strongest defensive positions on Overpass B site. The CT can crouch behind the barrels and hold a tight angle on the monster exit. This molotov makes that position untenable.
• This jump throw requires a bind for consistency. The arc from monster to barrels is long and precise - manual timing will not work reliably.
• If the molotov lands on the open site floor instead of reaching the barrels, your crosshair was too low or too far left. Shift your aim right and slightly higher along the ceiling edge.
• If the molotov overshoots and hits the far wall behind barrels, you were aimed too high. Lower your crosshair slightly so the molotov drops onto the barrels position.
• Combine this with a pillar smoke or site smoke from a teammate. While you flush the barrels player with fire, the smoke blocks another common CT angle and gives your team a safe entry.

When to Use

This molotov clears one of the strongest CT holds on Overpass B site. Use it for:

• B site executes to deny the barrels player their angle before your team floods out of monster
• Monster pushes where the barrels CT is the first player who will contest your exit - clearing them with fire lets you push out safely
• Post-plant holds to re-molly barrels and prevent CTs from using the cover during their retake
• Coordinated B takes with teammates pushing from short - the barrels molly forces the CT toward short where your teammates can catch them
• Force-buy rounds where losing your entry player to the barrels hold would collapse the entire round
