Steps
- From the CT-side Truck position on A site, stand at the front-left corner of the truck body. Your left foot should be near the edge of the truck’s bumper, facing down A Long.
- Look straight down the A Long corridor. You can see the long hallway stretching toward the T-side approach with walls on either side.
- Place your crosshair at roughly chest height on the right wall of the corridor, aiming at a point about one-third of the way down the visible hallway. Look for the light fixture on the right wall and aim just below it.
- Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement needed. The short-to-medium distance only requires a standard throw.
- The molotov bounces off the wall and bursts into flames across the A Long corridor floor, creating a wide fire zone that covers most of the walkable width of the hallway.
Tips
- Throw this right after your A Long smoke starts to fade. The combo of smoke into molotov gives you nearly 25 seconds of continuous denial on A Long without committing any additional players.
- If the fire spreads too close to your position rather than covering the corridor, you aimed too low. Raise the crosshair to chest height on the wall to get more distance.
- The molotov deals 40+ damage per second to anyone standing in the fire. Ts who try to run through take significant HP loss, putting them at a major disadvantage in any follow-up gunfight.
- Practice offline with these commands:
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 - After throwing, immediately reposition. The throw reveals your position at Truck, so move to a different angle before Ts push through the fire and pre-aim where you were standing.
- This is a reactive molotov as well. If you hear a rush coming down A Long, throw it instantly to punish the leading players and break up the pack.
When to Use
This molotov is a versatile defensive tool for CT-side A anchors. Throw it when:
- Following up a fading smoke on A Long to maintain continuous denial of the corridor without needing additional players
- Punishing an A Long rush when you hear multiple footsteps sprinting down the corridor - the fire damages everyone in the group
- Buying time for rotations when your B teammates need an extra few seconds to reach A site during a full execute
- Eco rounds where you want to deal as much chip damage as possible before Ts reach your position
