B Default HE Grenade from Monster

Overpass HE grenade to damage the B default area from monster. Easy throw that tags CTs holding the default plant zone on B site.

easy T-Side standing left click b-sitedefaultdamage

Steps

  1. Push through Monster (the underground tunnel leading to B site) and stop at the exit ladder area before climbing up onto the site. Position yourself at the base of the ladder.
  2. Stand at the bottom of the ladder and press yourself against the back wall of the tunnel. You want to be centered on the ladder opening, looking straight up through the hole.
  3. Look up through the ladder opening toward the sky. You should see the edges of the B site walls and the sky above. Find the edge of the concrete wall visible on the far side of the opening.
  4. Aim at the far edge of the wall visible through the ladder hole, placing your crosshair on the upper lip of the concrete where it meets the sky. This is the rim of the opening on the side closest to the default plant area.
  5. Left click to throw the HE grenade. It flies up through the ladder opening, hits the wall edge above, and bounces down onto the B default plant area. The explosion catches CTs holding the open area of B site around the default spot.

Tips

  • B default on Overpass is where CTs set up crossfires between the pillar, the fountain area, and heaven. This HE grenade tags anyone holding the default zone, forcing them to reposition or fight at a health disadvantage.
  • Because you throw from inside Monster, you are completely hidden from all CT angles. This is a zero-risk utility throw that can deal 45-70 damage without exposing yourself at all.
  • If the grenade is hitting the ladder wall and bouncing back down into the tunnel, your crosshair is too close to the near edge of the opening. Aim at the far edge of the wall. If it flies too far over the site and misses the default area, aim slightly lower on the wall lip.
  • Throw this HE right before your team pushes up the ladder or through the B short entrance. The ideal timing is to toss the HE, wait for the detonation sound, then have your entry fragger climb the ladder while the CT is tagged.
  • Pair this with a teammate’s smoke on heaven and a flash over B site. The smoke blocks the heaven player, your HE softens the default anchor, and the flash covers the ladder exit - a clean three-utility site take.
  • Practice commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60

When to Use

This HE grenade is critical for B site takes through Monster on Overpass. Use it when:

  • B site executes - throw it from Monster as part of your utility sequence before your team pushes from both Monster and B short simultaneously
  • Monster lurk plays where you are playing solo from Monster and want to soften the site before peeking - the HE gives you a health advantage in the duel
  • Split executes where players push from both Monster and B short at the same time - the HE from Monster clears the default area while the short team handles the other angles
  • Anti-eco rounds where CTs may hold aggressive positions around the B default zone with shotguns - the HE can outright kill unarmored opponents in the open
  • Force-buy and low-economy rounds - the $300 HE from a completely safe position is extremely high value, especially when your team cannot afford full utility sets
