B Short Pop Flash

Pop flash B short on Overpass. Blinds any CT holding the short angle so your team can push through toward B site safely.

Steps

  1. From the T side of B short, position yourself at the left wall of the corridor just before the area opens up toward B site. You should be at the last piece of cover before the CT can see you.
  2. Equip your flashbang and hold right click (underhand throw). Do not release yet.
  3. Start running forward through B short at full speed, keeping to the left wall.
  4. As you approach the opening where B short connects to the B site area, release right click to toss the flash forward.
  5. The flash pops at head level at the end of B short, blinding any CT holding the short exit from the pillar, heaven, or the water area of B site.

Tips

  • B short is one of the two main approach paths to B site on Overpass. CTs will often hold an angle watching the short exit. This pop flash neutralizes that setup and lets your team push through.
  • The underhand throw while running causes near-instant detonation. The CT has no time to turn away, making this one of the most effective entry tools for B short.
  • Your teammates behind you are safe from the flash because it pops ahead of your position.
  • Immediately after the flash, swing wide out of B short and clear the common CT positions - pillar, heaven (if not smoked), and the water/fountain area.
  • Pair this with the heaven smoke for a proper B approach. Heaven smoke blocks the elevated angle while the pop flash blinds ground-level defenders.
  • This flash works on any buy level - it is just as effective on eco rounds as it is on full buys.

When to Use

Use this flash when pushing through B short:

  • B short pushes - pop flash through the exit to blind the CT holding the angle, then push onto the site
  • B executes where your team hits B from both short and monster - the flash covers the short entry
  • Eco/force rounds where your team rushes B short together
  • Late-round B hits when time is running out and you need a fast entry through short
