A Retake Flash from CT Spawn

Steps

1. From CT Spawn, walk toward the A site entrance but stop before you round the corner. Position yourself against the right wall, about two steps back from where the wall ends and the site opens up.
2. Look toward the A site opening ahead. You can see the edge of the wall you are hiding behind and the roofline above the site entrance.
3. Place your crosshair on the top of the wall edge where it meets the roofline above the A site entrance. Aim right at the corner where the wall surface transitions to the overhead structure.
4. Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement. The flash bounces off the wall corner and pops over the A site.
5. The flashbang bounces off the wall edge and detonates over A site, blinding Ts who are holding post-plant positions on the site, including common spots like Truck, behind the planter box, and near Long.

Tips

• The wall bounce is what makes this flash effective. It pops from an unexpected angle, giving Ts very little time to react and turn away compared to a direct overhead flash.
• Throw this flash and immediately push around the corner. The blind window is about 2 seconds, so you need to be aggressive and take your gunfights while Ts cannot see.
• Coordinate with your teammate on the other side of the site. If someone pushes from Connector or Long simultaneously, the Ts are caught in a crossfire while blind.
• Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
• If the flash pops behind you (you self-flash), your crosshair was too low. Raise it to the top of the wall so the bounce carries the flash forward over the site rather than back toward you.
• You can throw a second flash slightly higher to catch any Ts who dodged the first one by turning away. Two quick flashes from the same position are very hard to avoid both.

When to Use

This flash is a go-to tool for CT retakes on A site. Use it when:

• Retaking A site after Ts have planted - pop the flash and swing onto site immediately for the best chance of catching them blind
• Supporting a multi-angle retake where teammates are pushing from Connector or Long and you need to flash for their entry
• Breaking post-plant setups when Ts are holding strong angles on site and a dry push would be suicidal
• Clutch situations where you are coming from CT Spawn and need every advantage to win a 1vX on the A site
• Eco retakes where the flash evens the odds against Ts who have better weapons and established positions
