Outside Smoke from CT Spawn

CS2 Nuke outside smoke from CT Spawn. Easy standing lineup that blocks T-side outside aggression to protect yard rotations.

easy CT-Side standing left click outsidedefensive

Steps

  1. From CT Spawn, walk toward the outside exit and stop before the doorway. Position yourself on the right side of the corridor, pressed against the wall about two steps back from the door.
  2. Look through the doorway toward the outside yard. Find the large industrial pipe that runs vertically along the far wall of the outside area. Focus on the upper section of the pipe.
  3. Place your crosshair on the top of the vertical pipe, right where the pipe meets the horizontal beam or ceiling structure above. This is your reference point for the throw arc.
  4. Throw with a standing left click - no movement or jump required. The distance from CT spawn to outside is short enough for a standard overhand throw.
  5. The smoke lands in the outside yard, blocking T-side vision from their spawn area toward the CT side of outside. This prevents early picks and gives your team time to set up positions.

Tips

  • This smoke is the CT equivalent of an opening move on outside. It buys your team time to position in garage, on catwalk, or at mini without being spotted by aggressive T pushes.
  • Throw this immediately at round start. The Ts can reach outside sightlines fast, and you need the smoke down before they get there.
  • If the smoke lands too far left (toward the T side of outside), your aim was too far left on the pipe. Shift right to the pipe center.
  • If the smoke falls short and lands in the doorway or just outside CT spawn, your crosshair was too low. Aim higher on the pipe to give the smoke more distance.
  • This smoke is a delay tool, not a permanent solution. Use the 18 seconds of smoke time to rotate players or set up a crossfire.
  • Practice in an offline server with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to learn the timing.

When to Use

This smoke is your primary tool for controlling outside tempo on CT side. Deploy it when:

  • Default defensive rounds where you need time to position your outside player(s) without risk of an early T peek
  • Garage setups where your AWPer needs the outside smoked while they get into position inside garage
  • Rotation cover when you are rotating through outside from one site to another and need to block T sightlines while crossing
  • Anti-outside rush rounds where the Ts are known to push outside aggressively at round start
  • Eco rounds where you do not have the firepower to contest outside directly and need the smoke to avoid an early fight
