Main Smoke from Lobby

Block the main entrance on Nuke from lobby to stop CTs from holding the ramp push. Lets your team safely enter the ramp area toward A site.

Steps

  1. From lobby, walk toward the main entrance that leads into the ramp area. Stop at the left side of the corridor just before the doorway, pressing your left shoulder against the wall.
  2. Look straight ahead through the doorway into the ramp area. Find the top of the doorframe at the end of the main entrance corridor. There is a metal beam or support structure that runs across the top of the passage.
  3. Place your crosshair at the center of the metal beam, right at the midpoint of the horizontal structure above the doorway. You want to be aimed at the beam itself.
  4. Perform a standing left-click throw - no jump or movement needed. Hold left click and release.
  5. The smoke blooms at the main entrance to the ramp area, creating a wall of smoke that blocks any CT holding the long angle down ramp from seeing your team push through the entrance.

Tips

  • The ramp entrance on Nuke is one of the most dangerous chokepoints in the game. CTs often stack one or two players watching the main entrance with rifles or an AWP. This smoke blocks that sightline and lets your team enter the ramp safely.
  • This is a standing throw, so no jump throw bind is required. It is easy to learn and extremely consistent, making it a great smoke for beginners learning Nuke.
  • Throw this smoke a few seconds before your team pushes through ramp. If you throw it too early, it may fade before your team reaches the site. If you throw it too late, your teammates may already be in the line of fire.
  • If the smoke lands inside the ramp room (too deep), your crosshair was too high. If it blooms too close to you in the lobby, you were too low.
  • After the smoke blooms, your team should push through together. Pair this with flashbangs thrown over the smoke to blind any CT who is waiting for you to push through.
  • The ramp area has multiple angles, and this smoke only covers the main entrance. Be prepared for a CT playing close to the smoke or on the side angles.

When to Use

Use this smoke when your team is pushing through ramp toward A site:

  • Ramp executes - smoke the main entrance, flash through, and push toward A site from below
  • Default rounds where a player wants to hold ramp or push up for information without being picked
  • Split A takes where part of the team goes through ramp and the other through outside/hut - the main smoke covers the ramp entry group
  • Eco rounds where your team commits to a ramp push and needs to safely close the distance against CTs holding the long angle
  • Stalling for time - if you are not ready to execute yet, the smoke buys 18 seconds where CTs cannot push through main aggressively
