Ramp HE Grenade from Control Room

Steps

1. From B site, move into the control room and stand near the window that overlooks the ramp corridor. Position yourself on the left side of the window, slightly back from the opening for partial cover.
2. Look through the window and up the ramp corridor. Find the midpoint of the ramp slope where the corridor is at its narrowest. Focus on the floor of the ramp at that midpoint.
3. Place your crosshair on the center of the ramp floor, roughly halfway up the visible section of the corridor. Aim at the spot where the ramp slope is most narrow.
4. Throw with a standing left click through the control room window. The HE travels up the ramp and detonates at the narrowest point of the corridor.
5. The HE grenade bounces into the ramp corridor and detonates, dealing 40-65 damage to any Ts pushing down the narrow ramp. The confined walls amplify the splash damage significantly.

Tips

• The ramp corridor is extremely narrow, which means HE grenades deal near-maximum damage here. Ts cannot spread out to reduce splash - they are forced to eat the full damage.
• Throw this when you hear Ts pushing ramp. The audio in the corridor is very clear - footsteps and utility bounce sounds travel far, giving you early warning.
• If the HE bounces back and detonates in control room, your aim was too high and the grenade hit the ceiling. Lower your crosshair to the floor level of the ramp.
• If the HE does not reach far enough up the ramp (detonates near the bottom close to you), your aim was too low. Raise the crosshair to the ramp midpoint for more distance.
• Pair this HE with a teammate’s HE for devastating combined damage. Two HEs in the narrow ramp corridor can deal 100+ damage to multiple Ts simultaneously.
• Practice in an offline server with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to test damage values against bots positioned in ramp.

When to Use

This HE grenade is a critical piece of B site ramp defense on Nuke. Deploy it when:

• Ramp defense to soften Ts pushing down the corridor before they reach B site
• Pre-smoke damage thrown before the ramp smoke to deal damage first, then block vision for 18 seconds
• Utility stacking with teammates where multiple players throw HEs into ramp for devastating combined damage
• Anti-rush defense when you hear Ts fast-pushing ramp and need immediate damage to slow the momentum
• Economy warfare by chipping health every round to force T-side spending on armor and healing utility
