Steps

  1. From A site, move to a position near the main entrance that gives you a clear throw line into the lobby. Stand behind the yellow container on the right side, using it for cover.
  2. Look toward the A main entrance. Through the doorway, you can see the lobby corridor extending back toward T spawn. Find the center of the visible lobby floor through the opening.
  3. Place your crosshair on the center of the lobby floor, roughly in the middle of the visible corridor section through the main entrance. Aim at ground level for a flat trajectory.
  4. Throw with a standing left click from behind the container. The HE travels through the main entrance and bounces into the lobby area.
  5. The HE grenade enters the lobby and detonates in the corridor, dealing 40-65 damage to any Ts stacking up or staging for their A site execute. The enclosed lobby space amplifies the damage.

Tips

  • Lobby is where Ts gather and prepare their A execute utility. Catching them with an HE while they stack up can deal massive combined damage to 2-3 players.
  • The best timing is when you hear utility bouncing in lobby. Ts pulling out smokes and flashes are standing still - the perfect targets for an HE.
  • If the HE hits the doorframe and bounces back toward you, your aim was off center. Make sure the crosshair is aimed through the open doorway, not at the frame edges.
  • If the HE does not reach deep enough into lobby (detonates right at the entrance), your aim was too low. Raise the crosshair slightly to give the grenade more forward momentum.
  • After throwing the HE, reposition immediately. The Ts know someone is holding main and may prefire or flash your position.
  • Practice in an offline server with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to see the exact detonation point in lobby.

When to Use

This HE grenade disrupts T-side execute preparation from a safe position. Use it when:

  • Pre-execute disruption thrown when you hear Ts gathering in lobby to soften them before they push
  • Audio-based throws when you hear utility being prepared in lobby - the stacking Ts are vulnerable to splash damage
  • Early round aggression to deal immediate chip damage and slow down the T-side tempo at round start
  • Utility trading where you throw the HE to force Ts to use a smoke to extinguish a follow-up molly, depleting their utility budget
  • Information plays by listening for damage indicators to confirm how many Ts are in lobby and whether an A push is coming
