CT Spawn Smoke from A Ramp

T-side Mirage CT spawn smoke from A Ramp. Blocks CT rotations through spawn during A site executes for safe bomb plants.

medium T-Side jump-throw left click a-sitectexecute

Steps

  1. From A Ramp, walk to the left side of the ramp and position yourself against the wall. Find the corner where the ramp wall meets the building facade on the left. Your back should be pressed into this corner.
  2. Look up and toward the A site direction. You can see the rooftops of the buildings above the ramp area.
  3. Find the small antenna or thin pole sticking up from the rooftop directly ahead. Place your crosshair on the base of the antenna, right where it meets the roofline edge. Your crosshair should rest on the junction point.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The bind ensures consistent distance and arc on every throw.
  5. The smoke arcs over the A site buildings and lands in CT spawn, creating a thick smoke wall that blocks the main rotation path from CT spawn onto A site. CTs cannot see or pass through without being blind.

Tips

  • The CT spawn smoke is one of the most important smokes in any A execute on Mirage. Without it, CTs can freely rotate from mid and B through spawn and catch your team in crossfires while you plant.
  • Pair this smoke with jungle and stairs smokes for a complete A site isolation. When all three are down, CTs are trapped on the other side of a smoke wall with no way to contest the plant without pushing through blind.
  • If the smoke lands too far right (toward the A site boxes instead of CT spawn), your crosshair was too far to the right on the roofline. Shift it back to the antenna base. If it lands too deep in CT spawn (toward B rotations), you were aiming too high.
  • The throw from A ramp is safer than alternative lineups because you are partially covered by the ramp wall while throwing. You do not need to expose yourself to the site before the execute begins.
  • Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
  • Timing is critical during executes. This smoke takes roughly 2.5 seconds to bloom, so throw it first and have your teammates time their jungle and stairs smokes to land simultaneously.

When to Use

The CT spawn smoke is essential for any coordinated A site take on Mirage. Use it for:

  • Full A executes where your team pushes from ramp and palace - the smoke prevents CTs from rotating through spawn to challenge the plant or set up crossfires
  • A splits where players enter from both ramp and palace simultaneously - the CT spawn smoke ensures no one can sneak through spawn to flank your palace players
  • Late-round A takes when CTs expect B and have rotated - the smoke buys time to plant before they can rotate back through spawn
  • Post-plant setups where you want to hold the bomb from CT spawn angle - even after the initial smoke fades, the time gained lets you establish strong post-plant positions
  • Default rounds where your team takes A ramp control early and wants the option to execute later in the round - having the lineup ready means you can execute at any time
