Steps
- Enter B apartments and walk to the far window that overlooks B site (the window closest to the apartments exit).
- Stand on the right side of the window frame, pressing yourself against the right edge. Your view should look across B site toward short.
- Look across the site and find the top of the pillar/archway on the short side of B site - this is the stone arch that frames the short entrance.
- Place your crosshair at the peak of the archway, right at the top of the curve.
- Left click to throw the smoke. This is a standing throw - no jump needed.
- The smoke lands at B short corner, blocking the player holding short from seeing anyone exit apartments.
Tips
- The short corner is one of the most dangerous angles on B site. A CT holding short with a rifle or AWP can pick off players as they exit apartments. This smoke neutralizes that threat entirely.
- Because this is a standing throw, it is fast and consistent. You can throw it and immediately follow up with a push out of apartments.
- Combine this with the bench/market window smoke and a teammate’s molotov on van for a complete B execute. The three utilities together deny all major CT positions.
- If the smoke is landing too far to the left (not reaching the short corner), aim slightly more to the right on the archway.
- In solo queue, this is the higher-priority B smoke compared to the bench smoke, because the short player usually has the more aggressive angle.
When to Use
Throw this smoke whenever your team is executing onto B site. It is key for:
- Full B executes from apartments - throw this first, then the bench smoke, then push as a team
- B rushes in force-buy or eco rounds where you need to remove one angle quickly
- Default rounds where you want to pressure B site with two players - smoke short and fight the remaining positions
- Late-round B takes in clutch situations to isolate the short player while you plant
