B Apartments Smoke from Market

Steps

1. From your defensive position in Market, move to the market window that overlooks B site. Stand at the left side of the window opening, with your left shoulder touching the window frame.
2. Face toward B apartments. You can see the apartment exit on the far side of B site where Ts push out during executes.
3. Look toward the apartments opening and find the top of the doorframe leading out of apartments onto the site. Place your crosshair on the upper-left corner of the apartment doorway - where the top of the frame meets the left wall edge.
4. Perform a simple left-click throw while standing still. This is a direct throw from the market window with no special technique required.
5. The smoke travels across the site and blooms in the B apartments exit, creating a thick barrier that completely blocks T vision from inside apartments into the site. Any T pushing through is fully blind on entry.

Tips

• Market is one of the strongest CT positions on B site because you have an elevated angle and can fall back easily. Throwing this smoke from market means you deny the T push while staying safe in your strong position.
• The smoke forces Ts to either push through blind or wait for it to fade, buying your team roughly 18 seconds. That is often enough for your A players to start rotating if the Ts commit to B.
• If the smoke does not fully cover the apartment exit (leaving a gap on one side), adjust your position slightly left or right at the window. The alignment needs to be precise for full doorway coverage.
• Combine this with a short smoke or molotov to completely lock down B site. With apartments smoked and short covered, Ts have no safe entry point and must push through utility.

• After throwing the smoke, stay at the market window and watch for any T who pushes through. They will be blind for a moment after exiting the smoke, giving you a free kill if your crosshair is ready.

When to Use

The apartments smoke is your primary defensive tool for B site on Mirage. Use it for:

• Stopping B rushes when you hear Ts flooding through apartments - the smoke breaks their momentum and forces them to push through blind, giving you easy picks from market
• Buying time for rotations when you are solo on B and need your A players to help - smoke the apartments and play passively from market until backup arrives
• Early-round defense to deny Ts early apartments control - throw the smoke right away so Ts cannot get a fast pick on the site player
• Post-plant denial during retakes when Ts have planted but you need to push from market onto the site - the smoke prevents any T lurking in apartments from interfering with the defuse
• Eco round holds where you have limited firepower and cannot afford to take a fair fight - the smoke forces a delay that gives your team the best chance to survive the round
