Steps

  1. On A ramp, walk up toward the site entrance and stop at the left side of the ramp. Position yourself against the left wall where you can see the palace structure above A site.
  2. Look up toward the palace building and find the overhanging ledge that creates the under-palace position. Identify the bottom edge of the balcony railing on the left side of palace.
  3. Place your crosshair on the lower-left corner of the railing - right where the balcony edge meets the wall surface. This is the key reference point for the arc.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The molotov needs the extra height from the jump to clear the ramp edge and arc under the palace overhang.
  5. The molotov arcs over the ramp wall and bounces under the palace overhang, spreading fire across the entire under-palace area and flushing out any CT holding that tight angle.

Tips

  • Under palace is one of the sneakiest CT positions on A site. The player hiding there has an angle on anyone walking up ramp and can get easy kills before your team even sees them. This molotov eliminates that risk.
  • This is a jump throw so use your bind. The timing is critical because the molotov needs to land in a specific spot to bounce correctly under the overhang.
  • If the molotov hits the palace wall and bounces back toward ramp instead of going under, your crosshair was aimed too high. Lower your aim slightly on the railing.
  • If the fire lands on the open site floor instead of under the overhang, you were aimed too far right. Adjust your crosshair back toward the left corner of the railing.
  • Throw this immediately before your team pushes up ramp. The fire lasts about 7 seconds, giving you a clear window to take the site without worrying about the under-palace angle.

When to Use

This molotov clears one of the most common defensive positions on Mirage A site. Use it for:

  • A executes through ramp to guarantee no CT is hiding under palace when your team pushes onto the site
  • A splits where palace players on your team can push simultaneously while the ramp team mollies under palace to clear their own entry path
  • Post-plant situations to re-molly under palace when CTs try to use it as cover during a retake
  • Default rounds where you want to safely push up ramp and take map control without risking a death to the under-palace player
  • Anti-stack reads when you know CTs are stacking A site with multiple players in tight positions
