Library Smoke from Second Mid

Steps

1. From second mid, walk toward the archway that leads toward A short. Stop just before the archway and position yourself against the right wall. Press into the corner where the wall meets the stone pillar.
2. Look up and to the left. Find the top of the stone arch directly above the passage leading toward A site. There is a distinct peak where the arch reaches its highest point.
3. Place your crosshair just above and to the left of the arch peak - roughly one crosshair-width above the top of the stone. You should see a small patch of sky above the arch.
4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key).
5. The smoke sails over the arch and drops down into library, blocking the CT who holds the library/pit angle on A site from seeing anyone pushing through short or apartments.

Tips

• Library is one of the strongest CT positions on A site because the player can see both short and apartments from behind cover. This smoke completely removes that angle from the equation.
• This lineup is part of the classic Inferno A execute. Pair it with the arch smoke from second mid and a short molotov for a textbook A site take.
• The positioning in second mid exposes you briefly to anyone holding from A short or apartments. Make sure your team has already smoked top mid and at least one player is watching for pushes before you line this up.
• If the smoke lands too far back (toward pit instead of library), your crosshair was too far left. If it lands on the site side of library (too close), you were aimed too high.
• Practice commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
• In solo queue, call out that you are throwing the library smoke so your teammates know to push site as soon as it blooms.

When to Use

Use this smoke in any A site execute that comes through mid:

• Full A executes - throw with the arch smoke to block both library and arch simultaneously, then push through short onto site
• Mid-to-A splits where part of your team goes through short and part through apartments
• A short aggression in default rounds where your lurker wants to peek into short without being punished by the library player
• Anti-AWP plays - if a CT AWPs from library/pit, this smoke renders that setup useless
