Coffins Smoke from Banana

Land a coffins smoke from banana on Inferno to isolate the B site anchor. Essential for clean B executes and post-plant positioning.

Steps

  1. Push up banana and stop at the bottom of the ramp that leads up to B site. Position yourself on the right side of banana, pressing against the right wall near the corner where the wall meets the ramp.
  2. Look up and to the right. Find the top edge of the tall stone wall that borders the right side of banana. There is a small overhang or ledge near the top of this wall.
  3. Place your crosshair on the left edge of the overhang where it meets the skyline - you want to be right on the corner where the wall edge meets open sky.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The bind is important for this lineup because the arc needs to be precise.
  5. The smoke sails over the wall and drops down onto coffins (also called graveyard), blocking the CT playing behind the coffin boxes from seeing players entering B site from banana.

Tips

  • Coffins is one of the most dangerous CT positions on B site because the player has cover and an angle on anyone pushing up banana. This smoke neutralizes that threat entirely.
  • This lineup requires a jump throw bind for consistency. Do not attempt to manually time the jump and release - the margin of error is too small.
  • If the smoke lands too far back (toward CT spawn instead of on the coffins boxes), your crosshair was too high. If it lands too close to you on the ramp, you were not positioned far enough into banana.
  • Throw this smoke at the same time as the CT spawn smoke from banana. Together, they isolate both coffins and CT rotation, making the B site take far safer.
  • Make sure banana is clear before lining up this throw - you are exposed while looking up. Have a teammate watch the banana push or clear it with a molotov first.
  • Practice commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60

When to Use

Use this smoke in coordinated B executes. It is critical for:

  • Full B executes - combine with the CT spawn smoke and a dark/new box molotov to completely cut off the site
  • Post-plant situations where you want to plant behind coffins and deny the CT retake angle from graveyard
  • 2-man banana plays where you push onto B site with just one or two teammates and need to limit the number of angles you face
  • Late-round B hits when CTs have rotated players away and you want a fast, clean site take
