Dark/Spools Molotov from Banana

Inferno dark molotov from banana that clears the spools position. Flush out CTs hiding in dark before pushing B site.

Steps

  1. In banana, move past the car and stop at the left wall near the half-wall. Position yourself so your left shoulder is pressed against the left side of the banana corridor.
  2. Look up toward B site and find the building overhang above the dark/spools area. Identify the bottom edge of the roofline on the left side where the wall meets the overhang shadow.
  3. Place your crosshair on the left corner of the overhang edge - the exact point where the roofline transitions from the visible wall face to the shadowed underside. This is your aiming reference.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The jump is necessary to get the molotov up and over the banana wall and into the dark corner.
  5. The molotov arcs over the site entrance and bounces into the dark/spools area, engulfing the entire back-left corner of B site in fire and forcing anyone hiding among the spools to either push out or rotate away.

Tips

  • Dark (also called spools) is an extremely difficult position to clear by peeking because the CT has deep shadow cover and can crouch behind the spool objects. This molotov clears it without any risk.
  • This is a jump throw, so a bind is essential. The throw needs height to clear the banana wall and arc into the back corner of the site.
  • If the molotov lands on the open site floor instead of reaching dark, your crosshair was too far right. Shift your aim back to the left corner of the overhang.
  • If the molotov overshoots and hits the back wall above dark, you were aimed too high. Lower your crosshair slightly along the overhang edge.
  • The ideal B execute on Inferno uses this dark molly paired with a new box molotov from a teammate. Both positions cleared simultaneously means CTs have nowhere to play close on the site.

When to Use

This molotov denies one of the strongest defensive positions on Inferno B site. Throw it for:

  • Full B executes to clear dark/spools so no CT can play deep on the site and catch your team off guard
  • B takes paired with new box molly - clear both close positions simultaneously for a clean site entry
  • Post-plant denial to re-molly dark and prevent CTs from using the spools as cover when retaking
  • Late-round pushes where your team is pushing banana slowly and needs to clear dark before committing to the site
  • Anti-stack rounds when you suspect CTs have two or more players on B site using dark and new box together
