Mid Doors Smoke from CT Spawn
CT-side Dust 2 mid doors smoke from spawn. Blocks the gap at mid doors to prevent early T-side AWP picks through the crossing.
easy CT-Side standing left click middoorsretake
Steps
- At the start of the round as CT, stand at CT spawn near the right wall (the wall closest to the B site rotation path).
- Look toward mid doors. You can see the archway that frames the mid doors gap from this position.
- Place your crosshair at the top of the mid doors archway - specifically, at the peak of the arch where it curves.
- Start running forward toward mid. When you reach the specific point on the ground where the pavement texture changes (roughly 3-4 steps from your starting position), left click to release the smoke.
- The smoke lands in the mid doors gap, blocking the narrow sightline that Ts use for early AWP picks from T spawn through mid doors.
Tips
- This is a run-and-throw smoke, not a static standing throw. You need to release the smoke while moving forward - the momentum carries it to the correct spot. Practice the timing of when to release.
- The goal is to get the smoke in place within the first 5-10 seconds of the round. Ts often go for the early AWP pick through mid doors, and this smoke prevents it entirely.
- After throwing, your mid player can safely set up at the mid doors position behind the smoke to listen for footsteps or wait for the smoke to fade before peeking.
- If the smoke lands too close to you (not reaching mid doors), you threw too early. If it sails past mid doors toward the T side, you threw too late. Adjust the release timing.
- Some players prefer to throw this smoke from a static position further up toward mid. This lineup from CT spawn is easier because it requires less movement and keeps you safer during the throw.
- In higher-level play, Ts will sometimes push through the smoke early. Have a teammate with a rifle ready to punish anyone who blindly runs through.
When to Use
This is a round-start CT smoke that protects your team during the opening seconds. Use it for:
- Every CT-side round where you want to deny the early mid pick - especially if the enemy team has been picking mid aggressively
- Setting up the mid player - throw the smoke, then your mid player positions behind it to hold after it fades
- Anti-AWP rounds where the T side has been getting free kills through mid doors at the start of rounds
- Buying time for rotations - the smoke delays any T-side mid aggression for roughly 18 seconds, giving your team time to read the round
- B anchor support - the mid player is safer behind this smoke, which means they can more confidently rotate to B if needed
