Long Corner Smoke from A Site
CT-side Dust 2 long corner smoke from A Site. Blocks T pushes from long and buys time for rotations when defending the A bombsite.

Steps
- From your defensive position on A site, move to the corner near the A site boxes closest to the long side. Stand on the edge of the raised platform where it meets the ground, with your back to the site boxes.
- Face toward long doors. You can see the long corridor stretching out with the distinctive long corner area where Ts stack up before pushing onto the site.
- Place your crosshair at the top of the long doors opening - specifically, aim at the upper edge of the archway where the stone frame meets the sky above it. Your crosshair should sit right on the lip of the arch.
- Perform a simple left-click throw while standing still. No jump throw or run-throw is needed - this is a clean standing lineup.
- The smoke travels in a clean arc and blooms at long corner, creating a wall of smoke that blocks the vision of any Ts pushing from long into the A site area. CTs cannot be seen from the long corridor, and Ts pushing through the smoke are at a severe disadvantage.
Tips
- This smoke is your go-to response when you hear Ts pushing long and you need to delay them. It gives you roughly 18 seconds of cover, which is often enough for a teammate to rotate from B or mid.
- After throwing this smoke, reposition immediately. Do not stand in the same spot where you threw from, because experienced Ts will pre-fire that position as they push through.
- If the smoke lands too deep (past the corner toward long doors), your crosshair was too high. Lower it to be right on the archway edge, not above it. If it falls short and sits on the site side of long, you were aiming too low.
- Pair this smoke with a molotov or HE grenade thrown at long corner just before or after the smoke. This forces Ts to wait even longer or take damage pushing through, giving your team maximum time to rotate.
- Practice offline with these commands:
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 - This is an easy lineup that every CT player should know. It requires no special binds and the reference points are clear, making it reliable even under pressure.
When to Use
This smoke is a defensive staple for CT-side Dust 2 A site anchors. Use it for:
- Delaying long pushes when you hear multiple Ts coming through long doors - the smoke buys critical time for your team to set up crossfires or rotate
- Solo A holds where you are the only player on the A site and need to slow down the execute until backup arrives
- Retake scenarios when Ts have taken long control but have not yet pushed onto the site - the smoke lets you hold your position without being exposed
- Anti-eco rounds where Ts rush long with pistols or SMGs - the smoke forces them to push through blind, turning their aggression into a disadvantage
- Saving utility for mid-round - since this is a simple standing throw, you can use it reactively whenever you hear long aggression rather than committing it at round start
