CT Spawn Smoke from Long
Dust 2 CT spawn smoke thrown from A Long. Cuts off CT rotations to A site so your team can plant and hold post-plant positions safely.
medium T-Side jump-throw left click a-sitectexecute
Steps
- After your team has taken long control, position yourself on A Long behind the blue barrel on the pit side. Stand so that the barrel is between you and the A site.
- Look toward A site and above the doors/archway in the distance. Find the left edge of the building rooftop that sits above the A site entrance - this is the roofline of the structure on the CT side.
- Place your crosshair on the left edge of that roofline, right where the rooftop meets the sky.
- Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key).
- The smoke travels over A site and lands deep in CT spawn, creating a smoke wall that blocks any CT trying to rotate from mid or B toward A site.
Tips
- This is an execute smoke, not an opening smoke. Only throw it once your team has secured long control and is ready to push onto A site.
- Combined with a short smoke (blocking the catwalk/short rotation), this CT spawn smoke completely isolates A site. The site player has zero backup.
- The smoke forces CTs to either push through it blind or wait for it to fade - both options give your team a significant time advantage to plant and set up crossfires.
- If the smoke lands too close to A site (not deep enough in CT), your crosshair was too low. If it sails over CT spawn entirely, you were aimed too high.
- This lineup requires a jump throw bind. The manual version is unreliable at this distance due to the precise arc needed.
- In a coordinated team, call for this smoke 3-5 seconds before the full A hit. It takes time to travel, and you want it bloomed before your teammates push onto site.
When to Use
Throw this smoke as the final piece of an A site execute. It is essential for:
- Full A takes to cut off CT rotations and isolate the A site anchor
- Post-plant setups where your team plants for long and needs CT spawn blocked to prevent easy retakes
- A splits from long and short - the CT smoke ensures rotators from mid cannot help the site player
- Late-round A executes where you need to guarantee the site player fights alone with no support
