Steps

  1. On A site, position yourself at the back of the site near the wall behind the large box. Stand with your back touching the wall so you have a clear line of sight toward long doors.
  2. Look up and toward long. Find the top edge of the building that frames the long doors entrance - specifically the corner where the wall meets the skyline on the left side.
  3. Place your crosshair just below the roofline edge, approximately where the top of the doorframe meets the wall texture. You want to be slightly left of center on that building edge.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The arc needs height to clear the obstacles between A site and long corner.
  5. The molotov sails over and splashes down at long corner - the position where Ts typically sit after pushing through long doors, engulfing the area in fire and forcing them to either push forward or retreat.

Tips

  • Long corner is one of the most common post-plant positions for Ts on Dust 2. This molotov forces them to give up the angle without you having to dry peek it.
  • This is a jump throw lineup, so use a bind for consistency. Manual jump throws will not land reliably here due to the distance involved.
  • If the molotov lands too far forward (closer to pit), your crosshair was aimed too high. Lower your aim slightly along the building edge.
  • If it falls short and splashes on the ground before reaching the corner, you were aimed too low or were not standing far enough back against the wall.
  • Combine this with a long doors smoke thrown by a teammate to create a wall of utility that completely shuts down the long angle during retakes.

When to Use

This molotov is a CT-side tool for flushing Ts out of the long corner position. Use it for:

  • A site retakes when you know a T is holding long corner to cover the bomb plant
  • Post-plant denial to force the T out of their comfortable angle so your team can defuse
  • Anti-long pushes early in the round if you spot Ts pushing long and want to stall their advance at the corner
  • 1vX clutch situations where peeking long corner would be suicidal but a molotov forces them to move and reveal their position
  • Coordinated retakes with a teammate pushing from long while you flush the corner player toward them
