Mid to Short Flash from Mid
Flash short/catwalk on Dust 2 from mid. Blinds any CT holding the short angle so your team can push up catwalk toward A site.
medium T-Side standing left click midshortcatwalk
Steps
- From mid (after the Xbox smoke is up), move toward the bottom of the catwalk ramp on the left side. Position yourself at the corner where the mid wall meets the base of the short ramp, pressing against the left wall.
- Look up toward the top of the short stairs. Find the edge of the wall that borders the right side of catwalk, where the wall meets the sky above.
- Place your crosshair at the top of the wall edge, roughly at the point where the catwalk wall reaches its highest point. You want the flash to arc over the wall and pop above the stairs.
- Perform a standing left-click throw (overhand). Hold left click and release.
- The flashbang sails over the catwalk wall and pops above short/catwalk, blinding any CT watching from the top of short, the A site crossover, or the elevated position near the A site stairs.
Tips
- This flash is essential for taking mid-to-A control through catwalk. Without it, the CT holding short has a free headshot angle on anyone climbing the stairs.
- Make sure the Xbox smoke is already up before you position for this flash. Without the mid smoke, you are exposed to the CT AWP at mid doors while lining up the throw.
- The flash pops above the CT’s position, making it very difficult to avoid. CTs on short have limited options - they can only look down at the ground, which means they cannot shoot you during the flash window.
- Timing is important - throw this flash right before your team pushes up the catwalk stairs. Your entry player should be moving up as the flash pops.
- If the flash pops too far back (behind you), your crosshair was too low. If it flies over A site entirely, you were aimed too high.
- Practice commands:

When to Use
Use this flash when taking short/catwalk control:
- Mid-to-A pushes through catwalk - flash the top of short so your team can climb the stairs safely
- Split A executes where one group goes Long and the other pushes through short - this flash covers the short entry
- Default rounds where a lurker wants to push up catwalk for information or a pick
- Aggressive mid plays where your team has Xbox smoke control and wants to fully take short before rotating toward A
