A Site Retake Flash from CT Spawn

Retake flash for A site on Dust 2 from CT spawn. Blinds any T holding the post-plant position so your team can push onto the site.

easy CT-Side standing left click a-siteretake

Steps

  1. From CT spawn, move toward the A site entrance and stop just before the ramp that leads up to the site. Position yourself against the right wall, pressing your shoulder into the corner near the base of the ramp.
  2. Look up toward A site. Find the top of the stone wall that borders the right side of the CT-to-A ramp. There is a visible edge where the wall meets the sky.
  3. Place your crosshair at the top edge of the wall, roughly at the midpoint. You want the flash to arc over the wall and pop above the A site planting area.
  4. Perform a standing left-click throw (overhand). Hold left click and release.
  5. The flashbang arcs over the wall and pops above A site, blinding any T holding a post-plant position behind the boxes, at goose, or at the default plant spot.

Tips

  • This is the go-to retake flash for CT side on Dust 2. It is simple, consistent, and effective - you should throw it every time you are retaking A site.
  • The flash is designed to pop above the site so that Ts holding post-plant cannot easily avoid it. Whether they are behind the boxes, at goose, or in the open, the flash covers the entire planting area.
  • Since this is a standing throw, there are no special binds or timing required. This makes it reliable even in high-pressure retake situations where you need to act quickly.
  • Throw this flash right before your team peeks onto the site. Coordinate with your teammates so they push together the moment the flash pops.
  • You can throw this flash from a safe position behind the wall. You are not exposed to A site while lining it up, which is a major advantage over throwing a flash in the open.
  • If you have two flashbangs, throw both with a slight delay. The first forces Ts to turn away, and the second catches them as they turn back.

When to Use

Use this flash whenever your team is retaking A site:

  • Standard retakes - flash the site from CT, then peek together with your teammates from multiple angles
  • Solo retakes where you are the last CT alive and need to blind the T holding the bomb before peeking
  • Retakes with a Long player - coordinate your CT flash with a teammate peeking from Long for a crossfire while the T is blind
  • Time-pressure retakes where the bomb is about to explode and you need to flash-and-peek immediately
