A Long Pop Flash from Long Doors

Pop flash A Long on Dust 2 from long doors. Blinds any CT holding the corner or pit so your team can push out safely.

Steps

  1. Position yourself inside long doors on the left side, ready to push out. Stand against the left wall near the doorway exit so you have a clear run-out path.
  2. Equip your flashbang and hold right click (underhand throw). Do not release yet.
  3. Start running forward through the doors toward A Long. Keep moving at full speed along the left wall.
  4. Just as you are about to clear the doorframe and step into the open, release right click to toss the flash. The timing should be right as your character model exits the doors.
  5. The flash pops at head level just outside the doors, immediately blinding any CT watching A Long from the corner, pit, or the A site crossover area. You emerge right behind the flash with full vision.

Tips

  • This is a pop flash - it detonates almost instantly after release because you use the underhand throw while running. CTs have virtually no time to turn away, making it one of the most effective entry flashes in CS2.
  • The key is timing the release to the exact moment you exit the doorframe. Too early and the flash pops inside the doors (useless). Too late and you are already exposed before the flash goes off.
  • Your teammates behind you will not be flashed because the flash pops in front of you as you move forward. This makes it safe for a multi-player Long push.
  • Immediately after the flash pops, clear the Long corner first (closest threat), then check pit. Do not hesitate - the flash window is short.
  • Pair this with the A Long cross smoke for a devastating Long take. The smoke blocks CT spawn from seeing you cross, and the flash blinds anyone on Long itself.
  • Practice this in offline mode. The timing is the hardest part - the actual throw is simple once you have the rhythm down.

When to Use

This is your primary entry flash for taking A Long:

  • A Long pushes - pop flash out of doors to blind the CT holding the corner or pit angle
  • Full A executes where your team pushes Long and crosses to A site
  • Eco/force rounds where your team rushes Long and needs to win the first duel
  • Anti-AWP plays - the pop flash gives the AWPer no time to react, making it the best counter to an A Long AWP setup
  • Second-round forces where Ts buy armor + flashbangs and rush Long together
