Steps
- From A Site, walk to the elevated platform near the back of the site. Position yourself on the right side of the platform, close to the wall with hieroglyphics carved into it.
- Look toward A Main - the corridor where Ts approach the A site. You can see the dark entrance with the corridor stretching back toward the T side.
- Place your crosshair at head height on the left wall of the A Main corridor, roughly where the corridor wall ends and the site begins. Aim at the transition point between corridor and site.
- Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement. The throw distance is moderate, so a standard overhand toss delivers the smoke accurately.
- The smoke lands right at the A Main entrance to the site, creating a wall of smoke that blocks all T-side vision from the corridor into A site and forces them to push through blind.
Tips
- This is your bread-and-butter CT smoke for A site on Anubis. Throw it at the start of every round to deny Ts free information and buy your team time to set up defensive positions across the map.
- If the smoke lands too deep inside the corridor, your crosshair was too high. Lower it to head height on the wall to keep the smoke at the entrance where it blocks the most useful sightlines.
- After throwing, fall back to a safe angle like Palace or behind the site cover. Do not stand in the open staring at the smoke - Ts will push through and catch you off guard.
- Practice offline with these commands:
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 - The smoke buys you about 18 seconds. Use this time to rotate a player to help B or to take an aggressive Connector position for information before the smoke fades.
- Pair this with the A Main molotov from Palace as a follow-up. When the smoke starts to fade, the molotov continues the denial and punishes Ts trying to rush through the thinning smoke.
When to Use
This smoke is a fundamental CT defensive tool on Anubis A site. Throw it when:
- Early round as your default opening utility to deny the T-side any free information or early picks through A Main
- Stalling an A execute when you hear Ts stacking up in A Main and need time for your B teammates to rotate
- Solo A holds where you are the only CT on A and need to reduce the angles you watch while holding from a safe position
- Retake setups when Ts have taken A Main control but have not planted yet - the smoke buys time for your full team to arrive
