Steps

  1. From Palace, walk to the doorway that overlooks A site and the A Main entrance. Stand at the left side of the Palace doorway, pressing your shoulder against the door frame for a consistent position.
  2. Look down toward the A Main entrance below. From Palace, you have an elevated view of the corridor exit where Ts push onto the site.
  3. Place your crosshair on the floor of the A Main entrance, right at the transition point where the corridor meets the site. Aim at the center of the threshold, slightly inside the corridor.
  4. Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement. The elevated position in Palace gives the molotov a natural downward arc that lands it precisely.
  5. The molotov drops from Palace and bursts into flames across the A Main entrance floor, creating a fire zone that covers the entire corridor exit and makes it impossible for Ts to push through without taking heavy damage.

Tips

  • This molotov is the perfect follow-up to your A Main smoke. When the smoke starts to thin, throw this molotov to continue denying the entrance without any gap in coverage.
  • If the fire spreads onto the site rather than covering the corridor exit, your crosshair was aimed too close to your own position. Push the aim point further into the A Main corridor.
  • The Palace position gives you both the lineup angle and a strong defensive hold. After throwing, stay in Palace with your rifle ready to pick off any Ts who try to push through the fire.
  • Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
  • Listen for damage sounds after the molotov lands. If you hear a hit, the T who got tagged is now low HP and at a major disadvantage in any follow-up duel.
  • This molotov deals 40+ damage per second. Even Ts who try to sprint through take 60-80 damage, which makes follow-up gunfights heavily one-sided in your favor.

When to Use

This molotov is a core CT defensive tool for A site on Anubis. Throw it when:

  • Following up a fading smoke on A Main to maintain continuous denial without leaving a gap for Ts to exploit
  • Punishing a rush when you hear multiple Ts sprinting through A Main - the fire damages the entire group and breaks their momentum
  • Stalling for rotations when your B teammates need extra time to reach A during a full T execute
  • Solo A holds where the molotov lets you deny A Main while you hold from the safety of Palace without exposing yourself
  • Anti-eco defense when Ts might rush through A Main with cheap weapons and you want to deal as much chip damage as possible before they close the distance
