Mid HE from Bridge

Steps

1. From Bridge, walk to the edge that faces toward the T-side mid approach. Position yourself behind the stone railing on the left side, using it as partial cover from mid.
2. Look down toward the mid corridor where Ts push from Street toward the center of the map. You can see the narrow passageway and the walls on either side.
3. Place your crosshair at chest height on the far wall of the mid corridor, roughly centered on the visible passageway. Aim at the point where the wall texture has a visible horizontal seam between stone blocks.
4. Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement. The elevated position on Bridge gives the HE grenade a natural downward arc that lands it in the corridor.
5. The HE grenade drops into the mid corridor and detonates, dealing 50-80 damage to any Ts grouped up in the narrow passageway. The confined space maximizes the splash damage.

Tips

• Mid is a narrow corridor on Anubis, which means HE grenades are extremely effective. Multiple Ts pushing through the corridor will all take damage from a single grenade, potentially dealing 150+ total damage.
• If the HE falls short and detonates near the Bridge base instead of in the corridor, your crosshair was too low. Raise it to the far wall so the arc carries the grenade further into the passage.
• Throw this when you hear footsteps in mid. The sound cue gives you 1-2 seconds to line up the throw, and the HE arrives just as Ts are in the tightest part of the corridor.
• Practice offline with these commands: sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60
• Combine this with the Canal smoke from Bridge for maximum mid denial. The smoke blocks vision while the HE deals damage to anyone trying to push through. Together they make mid extremely dangerous for Ts.
• After throwing the HE, immediately take an angle on mid from Bridge. Ts who took damage are now weakened and vulnerable to a follow-up rifle shot.

When to Use

This HE grenade punishes aggressive T-side mid pushes on Anubis. Throw it when:

• Denying mid control when you hear Ts pushing through the corridor - the HE in the narrow space deals devastating group damage
• Early round aggression by throwing the HE into mid immediately to damage Ts who rush for fast mid control at the start of the round
• Following up a Canal smoke to stack damage on Ts who are pushing through or around your smoke
• Information gathering by throwing the HE and listening for hit indicators - confirmed damage tells you Ts are contesting mid and how many are there
• Eco defense where chip damage from the HE puts Ts at a disadvantage in the gunfights that follow your utility
