A Retake Flash from CT Spawn
Flash A site from CT Spawn on Anubis for clean retakes. Standing throw that blinds Ts holding post-plant positions on A site.

Steps
- From CT Spawn, walk toward the A site entrance but stop before you round the final corner. Position yourself against the left wall, about two steps back from where the corridor opens up to the site.
- Look toward the A site opening ahead. You can see the corner of the wall you are hiding behind and the stone archway that frames the entrance to A site from the CT side.
- Place your crosshair on the top of the stone archway, centered on the arc. Aim at the highest point of the arch where the keystone sits - the very peak of the curved structure above the entrance.
- Perform a standing left-click throw - hold and release with no movement. The flash bounces off the arch keystone and pops over the A site at a height that catches all ground-level players.
- The flashbang ricochets off the arch and detonates above A site, blinding Ts holding common post-plant positions including Palace entrance, A Main, the site platform, and behind cover on the site floor.
Tips
- The arch bounce makes this flash pop from an unexpected angle. Ts expecting a direct flash from CT will be looking in the wrong direction when this one detonates above them.
- Coordinate the throw with your retake teammates. Call “flashing” so players pushing from Connector or Palace can time their swing to coincide with the blind window.
- If the flash pops too early (before reaching the site), your crosshair was too low on the archway. Raise it to the peak of the arch for the correct bounce trajectory.
- Practice offline with these commands:
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 - Push immediately after the flash pops. The blind window is roughly 2 seconds, and you need to be on the site and taking fights before Ts recover their vision.
- Throw a second flash slightly differently (lower on the arch) right after the first if you have two flashbangs. Double flashing makes it nearly impossible for Ts to avoid both.
When to Use
This flash is designed specifically for CT retakes on A site. Use it when:
- Retaking A site after Ts have planted the bomb - the flash blinds post-plant positions and gives your team the initiative
- Multi-angle retakes where teammates push from Connector, Palace, and CT simultaneously - the flash supports all entry points
- Breaking strong post-plant setups when Ts are dug into positions behind cover on A site and a dry push would be too risky
- Clutch situations coming from CT Spawn where you need every advantage to win a 1vX against Ts on the bomb
- Eco retakes where the flash compensates for your team’s weaker weapons by giving you the first shot advantage
