Temple Smoke from Elbow

CS2 Ancient Temple smoke thrown from Elbow. Blocks Temple vision so Ts can push A site without getting picked from the side.

medium T-Side jump-throw left click a-sitetempleexecuteessential

Steps

  1. From Elbow, walk to the right-side wall and find the spot where the stone wall meets the sandy ground. Position yourself so your right shoulder is pressed against the corner of the stone ledge that juts out slightly.
  2. Look up toward the rooftops. Find the broken stone cornice that sits above the passageway leading toward Temple - it has a distinctive chipped edge on the left side.
  3. Place your crosshair on the tip of the chipped stone edge - right at the very point where the broken piece ends against the sky.
  4. Use your jump throw bind (hold left click, then press your jump throw key). The timing must be precise, so always use a bind rather than manual throwing.
  5. The smoke sails over the rooftops and lands directly inside Temple, completely blocking vision from any CT holding that angle toward Elbow or A site.

Tips

  • This smoke is the second piece of the essential A execute combo on Ancient. Combined with the CT A smoke from A Main, it fully isolates A site from CT reinforcements and crossfire angles.
  • Temple is one of the most dangerous angles for Ts pushing A site because the CT player there has a tight off-angle that is hard to pre-aim. This smoke eliminates that threat entirely.
  • If the smoke lands too shallow (in front of Temple rather than inside it), your crosshair was too low. Raise your aim slightly higher on the broken cornice.
  • If it lands too deep (behind Temple toward CT spawn), you were aimed too far to the right. Adjust left toward the chip in the stone.
  • Practice this lineup offline with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to dial in the exact positioning.
  • Call “Temple smoked” to your teammates so the A Main players know it is safe to push without worrying about that angle.

When to Use

This smoke is critical for T-side A site pressure on Ancient. Use it for:

  • Coordinated A executes where you throw this simultaneously with the CT A smoke to create a two-smoke wall isolating the site
  • Elbow pushes where your team wants to take Elbow control and rotate into A site without getting picked from Temple
  • Post-plant positions where re-smoking Temple prevents CTs from retaking through that corridor
  • Fake A setups where smoking Temple and CT A sells a convincing A execute before your team rotates to B
  • Default rounds where your lurker smokes Temple to safely gather information or get a pick at Elbow without exposure
