Donut HE Grenade from Cave

Steps

1. From Cave, walk toward the exit that leads to Donut and stop at the stone wall on the right side. Stand with your right shoulder pressed against the last stone block before the corridor opens into the Donut area.
2. Look through the opening toward Donut. Find the curved stone wall that forms the distinctive rounded shape of the Donut room.
3. Place your crosshair on the upper portion of the curved wall - approximately two-thirds of the way up from the ground, where the curve begins to arch inward toward the ceiling.
4. Perform a standing left-click throw - no jump or movement needed. Simply aim and release the HE grenade.
5. The grenade bounces off the curved wall and detonates in the center of Donut, dealing heavy damage (up to 60-80 HP) to any CT positioned in the room or around the curved walls.

Tips

• Donut is a critical CT position because it provides rotational cover between A site and mid. Dealing 60-80 damage to the player there before pushing can turn a gunfight heavily in your favor.
• This HE grenade is most effective when followed by an immediate peek. Throw the grenade, wait for the detonation sound, then swing into Donut while the CT is low on health and likely repositioning.
• If the grenade bounces too far into Donut (past the CT’s likely position), lower your crosshair slightly to reduce the bounce distance.
• If it detonates too close to Cave (not reaching the center of Donut), raise your crosshair to give the grenade more arc and bounce.
• Practice this lineup offline with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to see exactly where the grenade lands and the blast radius.
• Combine this with a teammate throwing an HE from A Main for stacked grenade damage. Two HEs on Donut can reduce a CT from full health to near death.

When to Use

This HE grenade is an effective T-side tool for A site approaches on Ancient. Use it for:

• Pre-execute damage where you want to weaken the Donut player before your team pushes A site from Cave and A Main
• Cave aggression in default rounds where you want to HE the Donut player and then peek for an easy kill
• Force-buy rounds where your team cannot afford full utility and a well-placed HE can swing a gunfight in your favor
• Post-plant support where you are holding from Cave and suspect a CT is retaking through Donut - the HE softens them before they reach you
• Anti-stack plays where you suspect CTs are doubling up on A site and the HE damages multiple players grouped in Donut
