Steps
- From CT Spawn, walk toward the B site corridor and stop at the concrete wall that separates CT spawn from the B site approach. Stand on the left side, pressing your left shoulder into the wall corner.
- Look up and to the right. Find the metal pipe that runs along the top of the corridor ceiling, connecting the two walls.
- Place your crosshair on the midpoint of the metal pipe - right at the center where it is equidistant from both walls.
- Perform a standing left-click throw - no jump or movement needed. Aim and release the flashbang cleanly.
- The flash arcs over the corridor walls and pops above B site, blinding any T holding angles toward CT B, B Ramp, or the plant area. Your team has a window of roughly 2 seconds to push onto the site.
Tips
- This is the go-to B retake flash on Ancient. It covers all the common post-plant positions on B site, making it the single most effective flash for reclaiming the site.
- Turn away from the flash trajectory after throwing to prevent self-blinding. Face the wall, wait for the pop, then immediately swing out with your team.
- If the flash pops too low (below the site level and not blinding anyone), your crosshair was too far to the left. Shift your aim slightly right along the pipe.
- Always call “flashing B” before throwing so your teammates pushing from B Ramp or other angles are ready to capitalize on the blind window.
- Practice this lineup offline with
sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60to confirm the flash pops at the right height. - For maximum effectiveness, have one player throw this flash while another smokes B Ramp or molotovs Green to limit the Ts’ options during the retake.
When to Use
This flash is critical for B site retakes on Ancient. Use it for:
- Full B retakes where your team is pushing from CT B and needs site defenders blinded before entry
- Coordinated retakes where one player flashes from CT while teammates push from CT B and B Ramp simultaneously
- Post-plant defusals where you need to safely peek the site to locate the bomb and clear defenders around it
- Eco round retakes where the flash advantage compensates for your team’s inferior weapons
- Split retakes where this flash complements another flash thrown from a different angle to fully blind the entire site
