A Retake Flash from CT Spawn

CS2 Ancient A retake flash from CT Spawn. Blinds A site defenders so your team can push onto site during retakes without getting picked.

Steps

  1. From CT Spawn, walk toward the A site corridor and stop at the stone archway that leads toward the site. Stand on the right side of the archway, pressing your right shoulder against the wall.
  2. Look up and slightly to the left. Find the stone ledge above the archway that protrudes from the wall on the left side.
  3. Place your crosshair on the bottom edge of the stone ledge - right where the ledge meets the wall surface beneath it.
  4. Perform a standing left-click throw - no jump needed. Simply aim and release the flashbang.
  5. The flash arcs over the wall and pops above A site, blinding any T holding angles toward CT spawn, Donut, or the retake corridor. Your team has approximately 2 seconds of full blind to push onto the site.

Tips

  • This is the most important retake flash for A site on Ancient. It blinds the majority of common post-plant positions without requiring any complex movement or timing.
  • Turn away from the flash trajectory right after throwing to avoid blinding yourself. Face the wall and then immediately swing out onto the site as soon as you hear the pop.
  • If the flash pops too early (before clearing the wall), your crosshair was too low. Raise your aim slightly higher on the stone ledge.
  • Coordinate with teammates - call “flashing A” before throwing so your retake partners are ready to push immediately when the flash pops.
  • Practice this lineup offline with sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_grenade_trajectory 1; sv_grenade_trajectory_time 10; mp_roundtime_defuse 60 to see the exact flash position.
  • This flash is most effective when combined with utility. Have a teammate molotov Cave or smoke A Main while you flash, then push together from CT and Donut.

When to Use

This flash is essential for CT retakes on A site. Use it for:

  • Full A retakes where your team is pushing from CT spawn and needs to blind site defenders before committing
  • Coordinated retakes where one player flashes from CT while another pushes from Donut to create a crossfire
  • Post-plant scenarios where the bomb is planted and you need to safely peek onto the site to find the Ts
  • Eco round retakes where your team has pistols and needs the flash advantage to close the distance against rifles
  • Late-round clutch situations where you are retaking alone and need the flash to even the odds against a site defender
